Situated above Bussoleno in the Susa Valley, this small farm practises mountain agriculture and produces vegetables, seasonal fruit and aromatics. In addition to organic techniques, it uses biodynamic and synergic agricultural methods to reduce water wastage and improve soil use, and all produce is processed by hand just hours after being harvested. Silvio Montesini’s story is an impressive one of entrepreneurial success. He’s a young man who loves the mountains, wholesome produce, the land and food, and combines all four passions on his organic farm in the Orsiera-Rocciavrè Nature Park at an altitude of 60 metres. In the small farmhouse where he lives, Silvio has installed a workshop, and on the workable land round the house he has planted cherry, apple, plum and other fruit trees, berry bushes and a variety of vegetables. Produce is made into jams, sweet-and-sour condiments and sauces, liqueurs (sage, blueberry, raspberry, from Silvio’s own recipes), amaro inverso (blueberry bitters), grappa and genepì.
The farm is open to the public by telephone appointment and offers a home delivery service. It often takes part in fairs and events in the Susa Valley.
