The Giovanetto farm cultivates vines and olive trees in the lovely countryside surrounded by terraced hills just outside Settimo Vittone on the border with the Valle d’Aosta. Here Adriano will welcome you with his contagious exuberance and you’ll soon find out what an olive- and winegrowing expert he is. Tastings are organised on the farm premises and in the balmetto, or natural cellar, as well as tours of the vineyards and olive groves. It is also possible to buy products in situ. The wine range comprises a Canavese Rosso, vinified with native grape varieties, and a Canavese Nebbiolo, aged in wood casks.

With the help of Turin University’s Faculty of Agrarian Sciences, Adriano has carried out extensive research into historic olive varieties in the area – the ones that used to adapt best to the climate of the Canavese district – and has also built an oil mill in the centre of town. The oil is made with different varieties of olives from trees specially selected for the local terraces: one of them, the Don Carlo cultivar, produces a very high-quality extra virgin. The farm also makes a delicious oil aromatised with lemon.
