In the Val Chisone, an untainted mountainous territory rich in biodiversity, Emiliano Barbato has chosen to practise a trade that is not only a return to tradition but also a wager for the future. It was in 2015 that he launched Bee Slow, a small family business born of a social agriculture project dedicated to the world of bees. The honey produced in this valley is not simply a foodstuff but the fruit of a process that respects natural cycles and good production practices with special attention to the environment thanks to the use of renewable energies. The hives are kept with meticulous care in total harmony with nature and avoiding all forms of intensive exploitation. The honey is cold-extracted to preserve its exceptional sensory qualities. The varieties produced include high mountain wildflower and rhododendron (Slow Food Presidia), chestnut, lime, cherry, dandelion and acacia. Emiliano also produces mead, fresh pollen and propolis. All products are on sale directly on the premises.
