The main building of this historic farm is situated in a favourable position in the centre of Caluso. In the garden grow lemon trees, which yield lovely blossoms and fruit, and palm trees. It will soon become a “Bee Garden”, an Eden in miniature featuring an experiential pathway among dozens of plants and trees that testify to the richness of Italy’s plant heritage, so fundamental for the production of quality honeys. It was the idea of producing monofloral honeys that inspired Mario Bianco to develop his project in the first place and since 2000 it has been managed with equal passion by his son Andrea. Today the honeys in their “Mieli d’autore” (literally “Art Honey”) line – the winners of prestigious national and international awards – are very well known abroad (90% of production is exported). The honeys are the result of nomadism in the valleys of Turin and the Canavese district (on the south side of the Gran Paradiso National Park), and the most popular typologies are Alpine lime, rhododendron, mountain dandelion and chestnut. The farm shop, which sells many other products – jellies, pralines and grappas – in which honey is used as an ingredient, is open from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 12 midday and 3pm to 7pm (closed on Saturday afternoon).
