Casa Clara is a project with an interesting story to tell, that of Silvia Wdowiak, a Polish entrepreneur who came to live in Italy in 1997 and ten years later decided to open a gelateria and dedicate it to her paternal grandmother Klara to maintain a bond with her roots. Casa Clara has now become a small beacon of beauty and goodness in the Borgo Vittoria quarter on premises that began life as a tannery canteen and were then abandoned and totally neglected, it is now possible at last to enjoy excellent craft ice cream in a pleasant atmosphere. The ingredients are fresh and carefully selected: hence Piedmontese hazelnuts for the gianduja, farmhouse dairy milk for the fiordilatte, and Sicilian fruit and citrus fruits for the granitas. Silvia’s daughter Silvia recently joined the gelateria management team and introduced innovations such as the cocktail menu and Sunday breakfast with pancakes, waffles, maritozzi buns, granita and brioscia, Sicilian brioche. Worthy of praise is the work rehabilitation scheme for people with psychological problems.
