Since 2019, in the very heart of Giaveno, the historic Curetti family butcher’s shop has been transformed into an elegant modern patisserie by Roberto Curetti and his partner, Cuban-born Ivett Rodriguez Cuza. Ivet has always had a passion for cakes but with no previous training behind her, after attending courses with a number of master pastry chefs, she began to create specialities of her own. It’s possible to fill a whole tray with her tiny bignè, cream buns. In addition to classic versions and the highly popular ones filled with Chantilly cream, Ivett also makes square ones with layers of different-flavours, from white chocolate and raspberry to soft biscuit and chocolate, and pears and chocolate. Her ever original cakes and confections include cheesecake with a light base of hazelnut, caramel and orange, raspberry compote and wild fennel-scented milk mousse. Be sure to try the canapés, which come in unusual shapes and flavours such as bagna caoda, Bra sausage, and leek and bacon. Ring ahead for info ona opening hours.
