At first there was a bakery, opened in 1911 by the present owner’s great-grandfather. Panificio Elettro-Meccanico di Giuseppe Reviglio was its name and it specialised in baked products, which it sold along with wines, Marsala, groceries and some of the earlier bottles of vermouth, and a confectionery workshop was added subsequently. It was in 1996 that Giovanni Reviglio decided to leave the shop and use part of the spacious premises to open an enoteca that is now an institution in the town. The establishment is situated a short distance from the pedestrian precinct in the centre of Ciriè on Via Roma, which comes out onto Piazza D’Oria, near the main shopping streets. The place is lined with tall shelves packed with wines and spirits from all over the world. Hence champagnes, Italian sparkling wines (from the Alta Langa district to Franciacorta), Spanish cavas, liqueurs, grappas, gins, whiskies and the finest wines from Europe and the rest of the world. Also on display on the shelves, extra virgin olive oils, craft pastas and beers, sauces, condiments, biscuits, fruit jellies, vinegars – in short, all the very best Italy has to offer. Closed Sunday and Monday.
