This cooperative has been operating with a passion since 1960 in the small town of Carema, on the border with the Valle d’Aosta. It is headed by young president Matteo Bosonetto, who is carrying on the local area’s winegrowing tradition with great dedication.
The cooperative has about 80 member growers who own 13 hectares of land given over to nebbiolo vineyards and produces two versions of the prized red wine Carema (a Slow Food Presidium since 2014): the standard Etichetta Nera line and Etichetta Bianca, a riserva aged for an extra year. It also produces a Canavese DOC, Parè, also with nebbiolo grapes, a well as Luna Neuva, a Metodo Classico rosé which rests on the lees for 36 months.
The cellar is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 7pm, and on Sunday and holidays from 2pm to 7pm, and it also organizes periodic tastings. We also recommend the evocative walk through the vineyards and a visit to the Multimedia Museum of Carema Wine in the Gran Masun, a fortified farmhouse.
