Mara dei Boschi, Riccardo Ronchi and Edoardo Patrone brilliant brainchild, is a symbol of Turin’s quality ice cream new wave. Proof of the fact is its three hugely popular offshoots across the city, success that is all down to solely natural ingredients, plenty of research work, the finest products, a few creative flavours (coconut and yuzu, for instance, not to mention fig leaf) and maximum attention to the end result. The range also features vegan flavours (fruit and chocolate) and a great many effective experimental ones, such as salted orange and liquorice and basil. In addition to being a quality ice cream parlour, Mara dei Boschi is also a veritable innovation lab that works with chocolate, coffee and food culture in general as part of a broader project of popularisation and dissemination. Novelties are often connected with the art world, a passion of the owners, hence “Chocolate Pills”, inspired by the work of the Canadian artist Dana Wyse. Not to be missed at Easter is the delicious signature chocolate egg with a filling of either ice cream or confectioner’s custard and fruit.
