This patisserie is situated on one of the main streets in the old centre of Caselle, not far from Turin airport, where it is now well established, much loved by the locals and the sweet-toothed of the area. Two steps lead into the small shop, complete with open-plan bakery, where a long counter displays all its homemade specialities: namely fresh and dry pastries, savoury grana padano cheese biscuits, seven-cereal and orange biscuits, and savoury biscuits flavoured with lavender from the Cascina Blu farm in Ciriè (a Master of Taste), specialised in blueberries. Then come canapés and mini-pizzas, cakes and bavaroises, Casellesi (rum- and hazelnut-flavoured chocolates), craft pralines and, in season, marrons glacés. Specialities of the house are Gianduiola spreading cream and Pan Frutto, a fruit loaf made with chocolate and berry fruits. Last but not least, be sure to try Pan Gindru, a sweet focaccia filled with candied apricots, supposedly created to celebrate the historic arrival of Prince Eugenio of Savoy and his army. Closed on Monday.
