Casa Clara first saw the light in 2018 as a result of the enterprise of Silvia Wdowiak, a Polish entrepreneur who came to live in Italy in 1997. After buying an abandoned building and garden in her beloved Borgo Vittoria neighborhood on the road to the Savoy royal residence of Venaria Reale, she bought all the necessary ice cream-making machinery and turned the place into an artisan gelateria based on her studies and experiences all over Italy.
Her inspiration is Sicily, both in the décor and in the product range. Granitas are the forte here with 14 varieties, ranging from classic flavours such as almond, mulberry and citrus fruit to imaginative combinations such as blackcurrant and blood orange, mulberry and citrus fruit, and plain chocolate cinnamon and the scent of orange. The ice creams, also made with select ingredients also come in refined flavours, such as plain chocolate from 100% cocoa mass and a refreshing combination of pineapple, lime and ginger, plus, of course, Bronte pistachio. Not that Casa Clara has forgotten its Piedmontese roots, paying homage to the region in the form of Bogianen, an ice cream made with coffee beans and ratafià. The gelateria is open every day from April to September.
