ChialvaMentaChialva is the oldest family business in the Pancalieri peppermint sector, having started to grow it in 1865 and distil it in 1926. For five generations, it has carried on its great tradition of quality, monitoring the entire production and supply chain with constant innovation and attention to the environment. To taste its specialities is to uncover a story that goes back more than a century. In 2012, the owners, who had always operated as wholesale merchants specialised in excellent zero-kilometre peppermint on the domestic and international markets, created the ChialvaMenta line to round off the business’s supply chain. Today they turn their renowned Pancalieri peppermint – recognised internationally for its fine fragrance and pleasant flavour – into syrups, liqueurs, cakes and confectionery and infusions, and also sell pure peppermint essential oil. The Chialva family organises events, exhibitions, workshops, conferences and tastings, and, by reservation, it is possible to visit the old distillery, the peppermint crops in the open field, the drying plants, the historic family residence and the Museum of Mint and Officinal Plants.
