El Gelatè Gelateria Biologica

Alessandro Senese, the young owner of this organic artisan gelateria in the province of Turin, a stone’s throw from the Avigliana railway station, has been producing high-quality ice cream with only carefully selected ingredients for more than 12 years now. The milk comes from the central dairy in Turin, fruit is all seasonal and many ingredients are supplied by certified, often zero-mile farms. No coloring agents are used and carob flour is used as a thickener, whole cane sugar and rice syrup as sweeteners. To cater for people with food intolerances and vegans, Alessandro has introduced new water-based flavors, such as bitter plain chocolate, beer, coffee and Alta Langa hazelnut, to supplement classics such as strawberry, lemon and pineapple. The milk-based flavors feature chocolate, bacio (cacao and hazelnut), liquorice, zuppa inglese (trifle), Pancalieri mint and Val Susa lavender. The ice cream is served in edible organic spelt cones and tubs, and the cream is whipped by hand. In 2023 Alessandro opened a new shop in Moncalieri.
