Following her family’s furrow, since 2002 Mirella Chiattone has been running her farm in Pancalieri, universally famous as an excellent place to grow peppermint essential oil, considered the finest in the world for fragrance and flavour.
Peppermint is extremely versatile and lends itself to the manufacture of a number of multi-purpose products. The fruit of collaboration with specialised firms in the local area, Mariella’s catalogue boasts about 150 products which she makes in her own workshops. One of the favourites is classic syrup (without colouring agents), which comes in orange, berry fruit, liquorice, aniseed and raw sugar flavours. The range also includes teas and tisanes, sweets, chocolates, among which traditional cri cri, and cornmeal biscuits, as well as a number of liqueurs (Cicinin, Rampin, Farinel, Cicapui, Menestrel and Garibuja), and a new entry, mint honey. Mirella also collaborates with other Masters of Taste, advises on aromatherapy and cosmetics, and suggests gift ideas.
The farm shop in Pancalieri is open all year round, while guided tours of the Giardino delle Mente garden are by appointment only.
