This coffee business, which was established by Michele Giuliano Albo in 1950, is scheduled to move to new premises in Caluso, complete with point of sale and tasting room, in autumn 2025. The move has been made necessary by the fact that part of the original building was damaged by fire in May 2023. The business, now run by Marcella Minelli, granddaughter of the founder, serves the HoReCa sector, especially in Turin and environs, the Valle d’Aosta and Milan, and 20% of production is sold abroad.
The new premises will be fitted with state-of-the art machinery designed to bring out the finest sensory qualities of the various single-origin coffees, thus continuing down the pioneering route embarked upon by Albo, who discovered coffee as the fruit of the earth and farm labour after a visit to some plantations in Kenya. The same philosophy inspires Giuliano Caffè affiliate Orso Laboratorio Caffè, one of the first specialty coffee shops in Italy, which opened in Via Berthollet in Turin in 2014.
Noteworthy among the different blends is the 100% arabica Virtuosa, the finest of all, and a series of mono-origins and capsules (compatible with Nespresso machines) is available too. Giuliano Caffè is also very active in the training sector and organises bespoke courses for coffee professionals.
