A stone’s throw from the busy Via Italia, the Franceschin family have created this popular meeting place where they have promoted wine culture for more than 20 years. Commitment and passion animate the days of Renato Franceschin and his daughter Marta, who you’ll find waiting to welcome you to the establishment, where an air of conviviality reigns. At the entrance a glass cabinet hosts an array of fine food specialities (jams, tracklements, honey, oil, rice, cantucci almond biscuits, chocolate…), ready to be combined to assemble gift packs, while a small refrigerated display case is given over to local charcuterie, cheeses and more besides.
After come two rooms with tables surrounded by 1,400 bottles of Italian and international wines. Piedmont claims the lion’s share with a variety of the finest Barolos and Rieslings, but also Dolcettos and Barberas from the best cellars, as well as natural wines from small producers. If it’s a special gift you’re looking for, you can choose from an impressive range of sparkling wines, spirits, digestifs, grappas, rums and passitos.
There’s no shortage either of French labels (Burgundy), champagnes, cognacs, whiskies, vodkas and brandies – strictly for connoisseurs.
Closed on Sunday and Monday morning.
