Established by the parents of the current owner Manuela Malvasio in 1970 as a confectionery, since 2000 this business has specialised exclusively in chocolate, drawing inspiration from the history and tradition of Ivrea. Its many creations include Tastini, delicious mini chocolate sandwiches with images of typewriters, and Pavé, small cubes of plain hazelnut chocolate that evoke porphyry cobbles.
The bond with the surrounding Canavese area is also apparent in Cichet, chocolate spheres filled with local wines and liqueurs such as passito and ratafià. Not to be missed either are Farfui, hazelnut and gianduja cream in a biscuit wafer, and Giuraje, hazelnut dragées coated with royal icing, also typical of the area.
Other goodies are Curve della Dora, buttery biscuits coated in chocolate, and Mielò, plain chocolates with honey from the Mario Bianco farm, a Master of Taste. 2023 saw the birth of Machar, a new confection dedicated to the Blessed Bishop McCarthy, who was buried in Ivrea. Products are on sale online or at the shop, open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30am to 1pm and from 3.30 pm to 7pm.
