Nevedarance is a craft gelateria which was opened in 2013 by Vera Castrovilli and Alessia Torselli, who originally worked in TV unit research and design. Situated in the very centre of town, the place stands out for its use of high-quality ingredients and its attention to sustainability. The ice creams are made with full organic milk from Piedmontese dairy farms, fresh organic fruit from local farms and honey from Bianco di Caluso, a Master of Taste.
Vera and Alessia’s ice creams come in classic flavours such as crema (milk, sugar and eggs), zabaglione with Caluso Passito Docg wine, Stracciatella (vanilla with chocolate strands), hazelnut and pistachio, and special ones such as ricotta with candied pears, plain chocolate and pears, stuffed peach, mulled Erbaluce white wine, and orange with plain chocolate. Granitas and sorbets are prepared with seasonal fruit, which is also used for theclassic Sicilian granitas (the almond version is excellent) and fruit smoothie lollies. The 14 pozzetti offer traditional flavours on a rotation basis and the four new flavours without added sugar. All tubs, glasses and spoons are compostable: Open every day from March to December.
