Virgilio Cucini has more than 20 years’ experience in quality artisan pasta production. Since 2018 his business has also benefited from the presence of Virgilio’s wife Alina, adept at creating gastronomic items of distinction.
The workshop in Druento has a sales outlet and the shop under the porticoes in Via Po in the heart of Turin has a cafeteria and a bistro. On display at the pasta counter are the traditional Piedmontese classics, all made with select quality ingredients, mostly local, to recipes Virgilio has tried and tested and saved: hence agnolotti, plin (hand-pinched agnolotti), potato gnocchi, egg tagliatelle and a variety of stuffed pasta shapes with seasonal fillings. The lasagne, cannelloni, gnocchi alla romana (made with semolina) and refined insalata russa, Russian salad, may be ordered at the bistro or to take away. Moving on to confectionery, in addition to traditional desserts (bonet, panna cotta, creme caramel), Alina also offers a range of superior fresh items such as traditional cakes and fruit tartlets.
The business supplies numerous restaurants in the province and organises events. And if you fancy a delicious savoury or sweet snack on the move, its products are available at the Treviral kiosk on the Lungo Dora, while the fresh pasta is also on sale at the stand at the Piazza Benefica market.
