The Moncalvo family’s farm, which is situated in an area bordering on the Po River Park, has grown cereals for three generations. Roberto and Daniela, recently began growing vegetables too, and converted to organic and biodynamic production methods.
Since 2020 they have produced baked goods that combine modern and heirloom grains from the farm’s excellent growing land. Their range of ten or so naturally leavened breads features Settimomiglio (made with homegrown semi-wholemeal ardito wheat flour), Timilia (wholemeal durum wheat), Mediterraneo (with sun-dried tomatoes, olives and dehydrated onions), and Pane della salute (with sultanas, walnuts, almonds, honey, linseed and sunflower seeds).
They also bake brioches and vegan torcetti biscuits (with shea butter), four different types of grissini, breakfast rusks, flatbreads, focaccia and pizzas, some with gourmet toppings, on a daily basis.
At the farm shop, open from 10am to 7pm from Tuesday to Friday and from and 8am to 7pm on Saturday, it is possible to buy vegetables, strawberries, eggs and gastronomic specialities. The farm also sells its produce at Campagna Amica markets (on Tuesdays in Castiglione Torinese, on Wednesdays in Chieri, on Thursdays in Settimo Torinese) and at Sunday markets in Turin.
