The Soralamà trademark came into being in 1999 in the Val Chiavenna and the brewery moved to the Susa Valley, at the foot of the Sacra di San Michele, a mountaintop monastery. Here, Lorenzo Turco, a native of the Langhe district, was an overnight success in the beer world with his creations, different types of beer that became popular thanks to their lightness and drinkability, a direct result of the purity of the local water.
The brewhouse equipment was designed to spec by founder Davide Zingarelli and is visible from the road through its large windows. Other partners in the business are Gianluca Poggio and Enrique Jiménez Gonzáles. The standard range features the award-winning Slurp, an easy-drinking pilsner with a slightly bitter aftertaste, Wow, a fuller-bodied, fruity red ale, and the new German-inspired, gluten-free Welcome. Then come the Bitrex range of the three hoppiest beers of all, the more alcoholic, structured Belgian inspired Crus, and the two Bellà Italian Grape Ales, bottle-fermented using the Martinotti method. In 2022 the brewery acquired the historical Bosio & Caratsch trademark and developed another four beers. The facility also has a brasserie serving dishes made with local ingredients, complete with outside tables for summer dining.
