Stefano Poretti opened his craft workshop in Mezzenile in 2000, which has been a point of reference for local (and not only local) chocoholics ever since. The place is situated in the Lanzo Valleys, on the road to Ceres and thence to Val d’Ala and Val Grande. Here chocolate is manufactured by selecting the finest ingredients and dedicating care and attention to the appearance and flavour of every item. Chocolate bars come in different sizes and shapes (miniature trains, mice, handbags, stiletto-heel shoes, Easter eggs), delicious takeaway hot chocolate, plain, hazelnut and other chocolate cream spreads and, in summer, ice cream in an array of flavours: Coppa Notte Nera consists of cocoa and cream with a choice of two other flavours topped with chestnuts, caramel or lemon, while Black Hole is a cone topped fresh with plain chocolate and caramelised almonds. Classic flavours range from Poretti cocoa to chocolate rum, plain, hazelnut, raspberry and lemon.
