The Verdessenza project was launched in Turin’s San Salvario quarter in 2011 to promote organic and ethical products and reduce consumption and waste. It follows four guidelines for the preferential selection of products and suppliers: environmental certification, localness, the presence of solidarity economy and, where it is, the sale of products by measure. The project is run by five partners, two of whom, Alessandra Mazzotta and Cosimo Biasi, oversee the shop, always ready to describe the characteristics and distinctive features of every product.

The shop has different “souls”, selling eco-friendly products, organising ethical purchasing groups and promoting cultural activities.
The product range is vast: hence fruit and vegetables, cereals, pulses, bread, biscuits, rice (all available by measure), as well as wines, charcuterie, cheese, and the recently introduced fermented goods and kefir. The shop often organises presentations and tastings, where possible with producers present. Verdessenza adheres to the Mercato Itinerante (Travelling Market) scheme, which brings together responsible businesses in the San Salvario and Porta Palazzo neighbourhoods.

Closed on Monday morning and Sunday, all-day opening on Saturday.
